President Donald Trump took a brief hiatus from Twitter as he underwent treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center for the virus that's killed over 200 thousand Americans.
Trump was at Walter Reed for three days before his dramatic return to the White House which featured him defiantly removing his mask before entering, despite still being infected with the virus.
On Wednesday, Trump's Twitter feed was as loquacious as ever, with the President firing off 40 tweets or retweets in the span of 30 minutes. The quality of the tweets was just as mind-bending as their quantity, with Trump calling on Congress to pass a pandemic relief package only hours after he instructed White House representatives to stop negotiations.
Democratic nominee Joe Biden, whose steadiness is seen by supporters as a foil to Trump's spontaneity, issued only one word and a GIF in response.
The GIF was taken from an event last month in which Biden implored the President to step back from his incessant tweeting to work with Democrats in Congress on a pandemic relief bill months after the CARES Act was passed by Congress in April.
People appreciated the presidential frontrunner's retort.
Others jokingly related the comeback to their own Twitter habits.
Biden and Trump were set to face off in the second presidential debate on September 15, but with Trump testing positive for the virus, the date is still uncertain. For his part, Trump has said he's "looking forward" to debating Biden as scheduled.
