President Donald Trump's eldest son, Don Jr., appeared with girlfriend and political analyst Kimberly Guilfoyle on The View to promote his new book, Triggered, but a number of tense moments during the show upstaged it.

Though the prince of trolling did his best to turn the entire panel into a YouTube comments section, cohost Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ), confronted Junior about his attacks on the Khans, a Muslim Gold Star family whose speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2016 sparked attacks from the Trump family.

On Tuesday's season premiere of The View Meghan McCain made an on air declaration that 2020 presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke took exception to. In a heated discussion of the latest mass shooting, McCain extolled the popularity of the AR-15 rifle and stated violence would occur if anyone tried to eliminate or limit access to the weapon.

As part of his campaign platform, Texas born Beto O'Rourke proposed an AR-15 style weapon buyback program. But the former Texas Representative said to The Daily Beast about McCain's statements on national television:

In 2015, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-NC) was clear on how he felt about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot," Graham said. "He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represents the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for."

It is no surprise that the ladies of The View are not fans of President Donald Trump. Liberal hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin remain on brand while conservative pundit Meghan McCain has a more personal reason—related to the President's treatment of her father—for disliking Trump.

The day after the President held a MAGA rally in Orlando, Florida to officially launch his next presidential campaign, the hosts discussed the similarities between the campaign rhetoric of 2016 and the 2020 campaign launch.

Whoopi Goldberg stepped in and rebuked her co-host Meghan McCain for her views on abortion during a contentious moment on The View.

It all began when McCain dismissed actress Alyssa Milano’s call for a “#sexstrike” in protest of Georgia’s new law banning abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected, saying “people like Alyssa Milano need to understand…women aren’t just one section of the population like her. I feel like pro-life women are completely left out of conversations like this.”

Things got heated on Tuesday night's episode of Late Night with Seth Myers when guest Meghan McCain was asked if she still stood by her comments about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Omar in March criticized the powerful pro-Israel lobby, which some interpreted as a swipe against Jews. Though she meant no offense, Omar later apologized. But McCain still tried to connect her to the synagogue shooting.

President Donald Trump proclaimed Tuesday as National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day and his announcement is earning fierce ridicule because of his treatment of the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

"We honor the Americans captured and imprisoned by foreign powers while carrying out their duties to defend this great Nation," Trump wrote in a statement. "As a Nation, we must never forget or take for granted the traumatic ordeals of our former POWs.  With honor and valor, they served to keep our country safe, and they stayed the course — despite conditions that were often harsh and agonizing."
