Republican Couple Rips Trump's 'Terrible' Moral Character Before Making A Stunning Admission

Former President Donald Trump's "terrible" moral character was criticized by a Texas couple, who told CNN they both voted for him in 2016 and 2020—and yet admitted plans to vote for him this year as well.

Kay and Ron Swart, who had supported Trump in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, expressed deep reservations about Trump's fitness for office during an interview with CNN national correspondent Gary Tuchman, who noted they "live on a hilltop ranch in Roberts County, in the Texas Panhandle, where 96% of the voters chose Trump over Joe Biden 2020."

Yet despite acknowledging Trump's shortcomings, including his tendency to make controversial comments and his legal entanglements, the Swarts remained steadfast in their support for him.

When asked for opinions on Trump's moral character, Kay Swart did not mince words:

“It’s terrible. I can’t get much lower than it is. He continues to make crazy comments about being a dictator’s first day and repercussions against people who he feels have wronged him.”

When Tuchman asked the Swarts for their opinions on Trump's fitness for office in the event he is found guilty of crimes amid his ongoing hush money trial in New York, Kay Swart said:

“I don’t think he’s fit, but I’m voting for him.”

To that end, Ron Swart said that the United States would still benefit from Trump's leadership as opposed to that of Democrats:

“As wrong as it’s going to be to have him for president, he’s still going to be a lot better president for the United States than what we’ve gotten with Joe Biden and the Democrats."

The couple's stunning admission and contradictory opinions on Trump exposed them to swift criticism.

Located northeast of Amarillo, Roberts County stands as a conservative stronghold in the state.

With an average margin of victory for Republican candidates over the past four elections reaching an astonishing 92.86 percentage points, it proudly holds the title of the reddest county in the state.

The county was dubbed the “most pro-Trump county in America” based on national voting records. In 2016, it boasted the highest percentage of Trump voters, exceeding 95 percent.

Again in 2020, Roberts County proved to be Trump's staunchest supporter with an even more resounding victory, securing a staggering 96.2% of the vote county-wide.
