On Wednesday, President Trump held a note card while listening to survivors and family members affected by last week’s shooting in Parkland, Florida. The handwritten card read, “1) What would you most want me to know about your experience?”, “2) What can we do to help you feel safe?” and “5) I hear you.”

Viewers immediately flocked to Twitter, commenting on the note card. One user wrote, “Is a man that has ‘I hear you’ pre-written on a cheat sheet really listening?” Another said, “Lordy. If he only had a heart and wasn’t a sociopath he wouldn’t need empathy flash cards. If only we could get him to the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

Others have poked fun at Trump by continuing to list alternative talking points. Below, we’ve collected the ten funniest memes.

Many social media users pointed out that Trump’s note card symbolized a lack of empathy for those affected by the tragedy. At one point, a father, Andrew Pollack, took the floor to speak about his daughter, Meadow, 18, whose life was taken in the shooting. “Fix it!” Pollack urged Trump. “It should’ve been one school shooting, and we should’ve fixed it. I’m pissed.” Meadow had recently been accepted to Lynn University in Boca Raton.

During the session, President Trump proposed arming 20% of teachers, saying it would prevent mass shootings.

“So let’s say you had 20 percent of your teaching force, because that’s pretty much the number,” he said. “If you had a teacher who was adept at firearms they could very well end the attack very quickly.”

Many educators flocked to social media to dismiss the suggestion. One teacher wrote, “As a teacher for 24 years, I can tell you that our schools need more textbooks, educators, and art programs. They do not need more guns.” Another person commented, “I had a year 9 teacher who randomly threw a book at my head out of frustration at the class. The school did nothing. 2 yrs later he got sacked for literally biting a student. But for sure, give teachers guns, what could go wrong.”
