President Donald Trump recently paid $2 million in damages after an order from a New York state judge. The tax-exempt Trump Foundation misused funds meant for charity, instead buying portraits of Donald Trump, paying off Trump's lawyers, and partially funding his 2016 presidential campaign.

However, the judge's ruling doesn't just address the President—but his children as well.

According to New York State Attorney General Letitia James, Trump's eldest children and Trump Foundation officers—Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric—were ordered to undergo training in order not to repeat their father's actions.

James said:

"[T]he president will be subject to ongoing supervision by my office, and the Trump children had to undergo compulsory training to ensure this type of illegal activity never takes place again."

A filing from the case describes the training as

"an in-person, interactive board training session pertaining to charitable organizations and the fiduciary responsibilities of those organizations' directors and officers."

As a result of undergoing the training, the Trump children were dismissed from the proceedings with prejudice. The President reached an agreement to dissolve the Trump Foundation.

People weren't sure why Trump's children needed training not to steal.

For some, the mandate lessened credibility of Trump's claim that his demand for a Ukrainian investigation into the Bidens was solely to root out corruption.

Time will tell whether or not the training was effective.
