On Monday's episode of The View, host Whoopi Goldberg addressed one of former Republican President Donald Trump’s latest social media tirades.

That morning at 1:22am, Trump took aim at Goldberg on his floundering social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump shared a meme featuring a heavily altered photo of Goldberg captioned:

"I’m moving to Canada for sure this time!"

Trump's own added caption read:

"Canada doesn’t want you Whoopi, NOBODY DOES!!!"

Goldberg told the studio audience:

"You know what I’m a little agitated about? That man has something to say to me.
"He saw a meme—you know who saw a meme that said I was leaving the country."

You can watch the moment here:

The EGOT winner and veteran host of The View added:

"People always see these crazy memes that I’m going to leave the country if he gets in there. Somebody else thought I was leaving, was sending suggestions for people to take my place."

Speaking directly to the camera, Goldberg continued:

"Look, I’m not going anywhere. And it’s not for the reason—you little snowflake—it’s not for the reason you think."
"He said nobody wanted me."
"Honey, well, you know what? It wouldn’t matter if no one here wanted me."
"But I know where I’m going to be because I got a contract so I’m going to be here were I’m wanted for the next couple of years."

Audience members and Goldberg's coworkers made it clear Trump doesn’t speak for them.

Social media users who are not part of Trump’s MAGA minions also backed Goldberg.

Goldberg and Trump have traded barbs before.

In 2011, Goldberg called out Trump's birther misinformation campaign about Barack Obama. When Trump appeared on The View that year, Goldberg told Trump his conspiracy theory was “the biggest pile of dog mess.”

When Trump bashed immigrants and minorities during his 2016 presidential campaign, Goldberg said on The View that she didn’t want to live in a country where such disrespect is common. But she later clarified multiple times that she didn’t plan to move to another country.

She joked:

"I wouldn’t leave this country for him to piss all over. I’ve been here since the late 1700s."

In January 2024, Goldberg spoke about Trump with former Wyoming Republican Representative Liz Cheney on The View.

“If [Trump] ever gets in again, we’ll never have anymore elections—there will be no more. He will stop it, and he’s very clear about that. He wants to be dictator for life.”
