SNL is back tonight with its first show of 2018. Who's hosting tonight's episode?
Golden Globe winner Sam Rockwell will host the show with musical guest Halsey.
The next few weeks will continue to bring us exciting faces. Jessica Chastain will be hosting on January 20, with Troye Sivan performing. On January 27, Will Ferrell will host for the fourth time, with Chris Stapleton as musical guest.
Rockwell Recently Won the Golden Globe
Tonight marks Rockwell's hosting debut. Last week, the actor took home the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Now, his Oscar prospects are looking bright. Three Billboards has become one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year.
Rockwell hails from Daly City, California. Growing up, he split time between his father in San Francisco and his mother in New York City. The actor attended San Francisco School of the Arts, but dropped out before graduation. He made his on-screen debut in 1989, in the horror film Clownhouse. In the 1990s, he booked roles in The Equalizer, NYPD Blue, and Law & Order.
Rockwell's extensive resume includes hits like Lawn Dogs, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Seven Psychopaths.

And what's Halsey up to these days? In November, the singer finished her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom tour. Billboard reports that performing on SNL is the "biggest of all dreams come true" for her.
Tonight marks Halsey's first SNL performance. If fans are lucky, she'll bring G-Eazy (who's also her boyfriend) onstage for a rendition of "Him & I." The two have performed together a number of times over the past year, including New Year's Eve in Miami.
Halsey is a singer-songwriter who was signed by Astralwerks in 2014. Her studio album, Badlands, was certified platinum in 2015. In 2016, Haley released "Closer" with 'The Chainsmokers'. The song topped many major music charts, and is still a fan-favorite today.
