Former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies have slammed President Joe Biden for global supply chain issues brought about by the convergence of the pandemic with the holiday season.
Biden's administration took action to combat these issues, such as expanding the Port of Los Angeles' hours to 24/7, securing commitments from top importers to expedite shipping container removal, and signing off on 100 day reviews of vulnerabilities in the supply chain. While the problem hasn't been completely eradicated, it has been improving, and the U.S. CEO of Walmart credited the Biden administration's solutions with greater efficiency at U.S. ports.
Nevertheless, Trump's political action committee released an attack ad blaming Biden for the supply chain issues.
The ad features reports of supply chain issues over ominous music, concluding with the text:
"JOE BIDEN STOLE CHRISTMAS"
The ad generated mockery from social media users.
Even if supply chain issues weren't easing, the moral of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, to which the ad alludes, is that presents aren't what make Christmas meaningful to those who celebrate it.
Some Twitter users have echoed this sentiment.
A swing and a miss.
