In the first year of his presidency, outgoing President Donald Trump fired his national security advisor, General Michael Flynn, for lying to investigators and the Vice President about his interactions with Russian government officials.
Flynn pled guilty for these lies as part of a deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, but his trial was upended earlier this year when the Justice Department attempted to get their own case against him dismissed.
Last month, Trump pardoned Flynn and now the General is fomenting the President's lies that widespread voter fraud coordinated by Democrats tipped the election to President-elect Joe Biden.
In a shocking move for a United States General, Flynn has urged Trump to suspend the Constitution and enact martial law in order to secure another four years in the White House despite losing the 2020 election.
Flynn repeated these claims in a recent video, saying Trump to deploy the military to force a new election.
Here's Michael Flynn on Newsmax saying that Trump could order "military capabilities" to swing states and "rerun an election in each of those states."

In an appearance on the right-wing media outlet Newsmax, Flynn said:
"He could order, within the swing states if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities and basically rerun an election each in those states. It's not unprecedented, I mean these people out there talk about martial law like it's something that we've never done. Martial law has been instituted 64 times, Greg. ... We have a constitutional process ... that has to be followed."
Flynn assured that he "wasn't calling for that" but emphasized the "Constitutional process" without acknowledging that the election is a Constitutional process as well—one which was followed and the results of which have only been reinforced after mountains of litigation, political pressure, and lies from the Trump administration and campaign.
People were disgusted at Flynn's suggestion.
Literally what will it take to open a seditious conspiracy investigation of this traitor https://t.co/XzL5Lq7Dxp

This is a disgraced former general who needed a pardon to continued walking among us. Now he's on a fringe pro-fascism platform calling for the violent overthrow of the United States government. Behold today's Republican Party. But don't use spicy language about them. https://t.co/jOa5HKMJ8s

Flynn's insane rant is (I assume) relying upon the numerous invocations of martial law before during the Civil War—almost all of which were repudiated by #SCOTUS in 1866, when it wrote that it “can never be applied ... where the courts are open and their process unobstructed." https://t.co/DOEb6s8w6a

Flynn saying martial law is no big deal. Trump should send military to swing states to force an election re-do. A disgrace to the uniform, an enemy of the republic. https://t.co/JBebQhxAv1

A reminder that @GenFlynn was an unregistered agent of a foreign country and should not be mistaken as being loyal to the United States of America. https://t.co/5MORp7Xe7X

This is completely insane and yet not very surprising. https://t.co/YQncR9ix0R

They were horrified that a general calling for the overthrow of a democracy he vowed to protect got to the highest levels of government.
This guy was President Trump's National Security Adviser (until he got arrested for lying to the FBI about his relationship with the Russians). Imagine that. This person should be nowhere near any govt building, even a post office. https://t.co/2BgVSaLozO

It's worth thinking about what went wrong in the US military that this man reached its highest levels and highest positions of trust—and now appears so clearly unhinged, so conspiratorial, and so anti-democracy. https://t.co/uFpgY9561b
