About eighty scandals ago, in February of 2019, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen had turned on Trump and testified before the House Oversight Committee to all of the President's crimes, including tax fraud, insurance fraud, campaign finance violations, discrimination, and more.
Cohen laid bare the President's corruption and told the Oversight committee who they could call in to corroborate his story under oath. That didn't happen.
Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for using campaign funds to pay off an adult film star to keep quiet about her affair with Trump.
It seems like Cohen's been using his time productively though, and he's not done speaking out—much to the chagrin of his former boss.
It was reported that on Thursday, Cohen received a letter from Trump's personal attorney Charles Harder warning him to stop work on a rumored tell-all book about his time working for Trump. Harder asserted in the letter that Cohen's non-disclosure agreement prohibited him from disclosing certain information about the President and those in his sphere.
But the story doesn't end there.
In the face of the pandemic that's upended daily life in the United States, the Bureau of Prisons began allowing certain nonviolent offenders to serve the rest of their sentences in home confinement, in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
Subsequently, Cohen spent two weeks in quarantine and was due to return home on May 1, but that didn't happen. As his release date drew closer, news broke that Cohen wasn't coming home on May 1.

After original confusion that Cohen's release had been rescinded all together, it has now been postponed to the end of the month.
At the first White House Press Briefing in over a year, Trump's latest press secretary Kayleigh McEnany insisted that the President played no part in any change to Cohen's early release plans.
But considering she lied at least three times in that briefing, people aren't buying it.

According to a report from the Daily Beast earlier this week, the President was livid at the news of Cohen's early release and the possibility of a book.
