Trump Supporters Furious After DC Hotel Cancels Reservations During Massive Pro-Trump Protest

Last month, after President-elect Joe Biden overtook Trump's initial lead in the 2020 election in a number of swing states after mail votes were counted, Trump's allies insisted Trump could still come out the victor.

When Biden emerged as the winner of the election and states began certifying their results, Trump supporters were certain the campaign's frivolous lawsuits would stop or reverse the certification in swing states.

When that didn't happen, state certifications were dismissed as a formality and Republicans said the only date that really counted would be on December 14, when the electoral college met to cast votes on behalf of their state.

Now that the expected 306 electoral votes cast for Biden have further reinforced his victory, these same Trump allies swear they'll be vindicated on January 6, when Vice President Mike Pence oversees a joint session of Congress to nationally certify the results.

Some Trump supporters are under the collective delusion that Pence will wield power he doesn't have and begin overturning the election results on that day.

As a result, Trump supporters across the nation are gearing up to descend on DC in a show of solidarity for the outgoing President.

Among them are members of the Proud Boys, a self-proclaimed "western chauvinist" group known for sparking violence and intimidating those they believe aren't loyal to the President. Trump infamously told them to "stand back and stand by" at the disastrous first debate of the 2020 election this past September.

The Proud Boys heeded that call and many of them intended to come to DC and stay at the Hotel Harrington, a popular spot for the group and other Trump supporters to stay due to its proximity to the White House and affordable prices. The hotel bar, Harry's, was the main locale for the hate group to drink before going to "punch commies" at the Million MAGA March earlier this month.

At the march, the Proud Boys vandalized churches and publicly burned Black Lives Matter signs, resulting in numerous arrests and melees.

In anticipation of the chaos surrounding the joint congressional session, the Hotel Harrington announced it would close from January 4 to January 6 in order to "protect the safety of our visitors, guests, and employees."

Will Sommer, a reporter from The Daily Beast, shared the reactions of Trump's supporters on Twitter.

One post read:

"HOTEL HARRINGTON GOT CUCKED BY A BUNCH OF LOSER LIBERALS. HOTEL HARRINGTON HAS NO BACKBONE!"

Another said:

"F*CK HOTEL HARRINGTON. THEY CANCELED OUR ROOMS... THEN WE'LL CANCEL THEIR BUSINESS. NOBODY BOOK WITH THEM, THEY WILL F*CK YOU OVER!!!"

Those weren't the only angry posts from Trump supporters.

But people weren't exactly sympathetic the infamous provocateurs found no room at the inn.

With the Proud Boys and other violent Trump supporters descending on DC nonetheless, it's possible this outrage could lead to vandalism of the hotel that once was their haven when January 6 finally comes.
