Donald Trump Claims He Asked for John Bolton's Resignation but Now Bolton Is Tweeting and Texting a Different Story
Hmmm....
President Donald Trump announced on Twitter Tuesday morning that Head National Security Advisor John Bolton would be leaving the Trump administration.
The news comes after reports that Bolton advised against a planned meeting between Trump and leaders of the Taliban at Camp David on the week of the 18th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Trump asserted that he asked Bolton for his resignation on Monday night, noting that he "disagreed strongly" with many of Bolton's suggestions.
The hasty announcement of Bolton's departure was immediately made national news, but things got more convoluted when Bolton took to Twitter minutes after Trump's announcement to say that he'd offered to resign on Monday night and that the President said they'd talk about it later.

Bolton then began texting Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade as Kilmeade was on the air. Again, Bolton insisted that he'd resigned.

Bolton texted the same thing to Washington Post political reporter Robert Costa.

It appears Bolton's assertion is right—or at least that news of his firing hadn't reached the White House early this afternoon. Bolton was scheduled to brief reporters at the White House at 1:30 PM the day of his firing. His appearance was still scheduled in press packets sent to journalists by the White House Tuesday morning.
Trump has yet to respond to Bolton's claim, but it sure looks like Bolton found out he was fired at the same time the rest of the world did.

Bolton is thought by many on both sides of the aisle to be a warmonger, and was reportedly eager to begin military conflict in Iran. Now that he's safely out of the administration, people are hoping he joins the list of former Trump administration members who've turned against their old boss.

Even if Bolton revealed everything he knows about the inner-workings of the administration, who would the nation believe when forced to choose between a warmonger or a serial liar?
