Pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell rose to national infamy in the aftermath of the 2020 election as one of the foremost amplifiers of the former President Donald Trump's lie that Democrats "stole" the election through widespread voter fraud.

After the Trump campaign's legal team nixed all association with Powell following a bizarre joint press conference, Powell continued to hold rallies and file frivolous lawsuits with conspiracy theorist Lin Wood in hopes of overturning electoral votes in swing states Trump lost.

Powell's claims centered around election software company Dominion Voting Systems, falsely claiming the company emerged out of an effort to rig votes for the late Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. Dominion has since responded with a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Powell.

Weeks after requesting dismissal because "no reasonable person" should have taken her claims seriously, Powell has now cited beloved Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear in her latest legal filing.

It reads:

"Defendant would have this Court make new law, create an exception for baseless and untimely motion, which—with no precedent in the case law or any rule—could extend the time for filing a sanctions motion 'to infinity and beyond' to harass a plaintiff in what amounts to nothing more than political grandstanding."

Below the paragraph is a footnote, citing "Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story (Pixar 1995)."

Twitter was quick to mock the laughable excerpt.

People soon responded with GIFs imagining Buzz Lightyear's reaction.

Lightyear couldn't be reached for comment.
