Outgoing President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani has been at the forefront in the effort to defend the President's lies that widespread voter fraud coordinated by Democrats tipped the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden.

Cases brought forth by Giuliani and other Trump lawyers to overturn the election have overwhelmingly failed in court and state legislature hearings prompted by Giuliani resulted in little more than viral moments used to mock their false premise.

On January 6th, Vice President Mike Pence will preside over a joint session of Congress where the Electoral College votes will be read aloud for Congressional acknowledgement, further reinforcing President-elect Joe Biden's victory over outgoing President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

But a faction of Trump's supporters erroneously believe that the Vice President will wield power that—by his own admission—he doesn't have in order to somehow overturn the results of the election during the joint session.

At a rally of Trump's supporters in D.C., Giuliani called for a "trial by combat" to decide the election.

Watch below.

Giuliani said:

"So over the next ten days, we get to see the machines that are crooked, the ballots that are fraudulent. And if we are wrong we will be made fools of. But if we are right, a lot of them will go to jailLet's have trial by combat! I'm willing to stake my reputation, the President is willing to stake his reputation on the fact that we're gonna find criminality there."

The Trump sphere's lies about corrupt voting machines and fake ballots have been repeatedly debunked.

A trial by combat was a Middle Ages law in which dueling parties physically fought each other to determine who was telling the truth in the absence of proof or a witness.

Once again, Giuliani was the subject of internet derision.

Giuliani—who was famously beclowned by Borat a few months ago—promised to stake his reputation on criminality in the election, but that only generated more mockery.

President-elect Biden's victory is fully expected to be certified by Congress as soon as the end of the day.
