Idk, in order for it to be damaging it has to be offensive to people who might wield some sort of influence in the echo-chamber Carlson relies on for his career. My sense is most of those people are decidedly not offended by this.

And why wouldn’t Fox take up for him? His viewers seem to think the Left is ridiculous for being repulsed by his comments—and that repulsion is, inexplicably, an attack on free speech.
