They pointed out that many civil rights have been withheld or abolished citing religious grounds.

This is one of the few times he told the truth. Evangelical Christians have been fighting against civil rights for decades. pic.twitter.com/3g6SJXLURZ

I for one find it hard to believe that almost 98% of his life is a purposeful gaffe.
Let's just agree he's kind of an idiot who makes a ton of mistakes with "getting it right occasionally" being one of them

This is not a gaffe. He says what he means. It is intentional. He told us so yesterday.

Actions the administration has taken, including locking children in cages, speak to the intent of Trump’s flock. And, given that the crusades against equality, voting rights, access to health care, and women’s right to chose, for example, are all led by right-wingers like Vice President Mike Pence claiming to be people of faith.
It wasn't a gaffe. He plans on abolishing civil right.

Yes. I believe he meant exactly what he said.

And, I think he has finally spoken the truth–he is hoping for the abolition of civil rights–he is working hard toward that goal.

The abolition of civil rights is in no way an accomplishment, well, okay, except from the perspective of white supremacy/fascism. Trump shows his true colors at every turn.

That's kind of you, Mr Frum.
Perhaps it's more likely that Donald struggles with the idea of PoC *having* civil liberties at all. @realDonaldTrump learned at his father's knee that they don't in Trump buildings….

Maybe his base should reexamine their bibles.
