After a whirlwind 2020 campaign and months of lies about the integrity of American elections, President Joe Biden was inaugurated on January 20th and immediately began his work as President.

While Democrats across the nation felt relief at the start of a new chapter following the tumultuous presidency of Donald Trump, many of Trump's supporters—fueled by his years-long disinformation campaign—felt a sense of dread.

If those supporters were wondering how much time they have until there's hope of another Republican taking over the White House, they need look no further than the Twitter account of Trump's Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

On the second day of Biden's presidency, Pompeo tweeted "1,384 days," alluding to the number of days left until the 2024 election.

The tweet came just after Pompeo's departing remarks prompted backlash across the political sphere for condemning "multiculturalism" as "not who America is," despite the United States' centuries-long reliance on immigrants and their cultural contributions across an array of disciplines and sectors.

Pompeo may have been counting down to the GOP's next chance to take power, but Twitter responded with countdowns of their own.

Pompeo's ill-advised tweet marked another display of animosity contradicting Republicans' calls for Biden to unite with them.

Some suspect Pompeo himself is planning on a bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
