White House press secretary Jen Psaki traded barbs yet again with Peter Doocy, White House correspondent for the conservative Fox News network.

The White House is currently in negotiations with congressional Republicans to pass President Joe Biden's infrastructure bill.

Though the initial $2.3 trillion package allocated for green energy initiatives, climate friendly retrofitting of federal buildings, the elimination of lead pipes, elder care, and a host of other initiatives, Republicans have balked at the price tag.

On Friday, the White House announced it would lower the base line to $1.7 trillion—a move which Psaki referred to as the "art of seeking common ground."

In 1987, former President Donald Trump was credited with the bestselling book The Art of the Deal(ghost written by journalist Tony Schwartz), which became a crucial piece of work presenting Trump as a successful businessman.

Doocy jokingly asked Psaki if the White House would soon be referring to the infrastructure negotiations as the "Art of the deal."

Psaki responded:

"I don't know. You're the professional here, Peter. You're the TV star. What's the Fox chyron gonna be?"

After Doocy remarked that "Art of seeking common ground" would take up a lot of characters in a chyron, Psaki agreed.

She then suggested:

"Art of a different kind of deal. A deal for the working people."

People couldn't help but praise Psaki's shady response.

They soon began mocking Doocy as well.
