In the aftermath of the House Oversight Committee's testimony by Hunter Biden's former business partner Devon Archer, Fox News personality Laura Ingraham downplayed the significance of finding "sufficient proof" to convict President Joe Biden of any financial crime.

Archer's testimony reportedly did not deliver the bombshell some Republicans were hoping for, leading Ingraham to dismiss the importance of solid evidence.

During her show, The Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham focused on Archer's comments during a closed-door interview with lawmakers. According to a CNN source, Archer mentioned that Hunter Biden was selling the "illusion" of access to his father, but he provided no evidence linking President Biden to his son's overseas business dealings.

Following the interview, a Democrat who was present during questioning later clarified that the pair never discussed business matters in their phone conversations and urged House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer—a Kentucky Republican who said the President "lied to the American people"—to release the transcript of Archer's interview to dispel misinformation.

But Ingraham expressed skepticism about the substance of Hunter Biden's phone conversations, suggesting that the conversations were not merely pleasantries but reassurances to clients that the "big guy," referring to Joe Biden, was on their side.

Ingraham said:

“We all know that when he was VP, Joe Biden was put on phone calls with Hunter and his clients not to discuss the weather—as fascinating as Joe’s perspective on the weather must be—but to reassure those clients that the big guy was on their side."

“Now, no one should really get hung up, as sometimes Republicans are want to do, on whether sufficient proof exists to convict Joe Biden of a financial crime. That’s irrelevant here."

“If Biden had any brains, he would never have wanted funds to go directly to himself, anyway. It would be better if it all went to his son, or brother, or anyone in his family, for that matter, as long as it went to a Biden.”

Many have called out Ingraham's remarks as evidence of a GOP smear campaign against the Bidens.

Ingraham's comments highlight the failure of Republicans to deliver on anything resembling proof of any wrongdoing by President Biden.

In May, Comer himself came under fire after he admitted the ongoing investigation into the President's family members and their finances is aimed at helping Donald Trump win the presidency in 2024.

Comer was similarly criticized after he claimed during a Fox News interview that a key "informant" on the Biden administration's alleged corruption mysteriously vanished, casting a cloud of uncertainty over the GOP's ongoing probe.

During the interview, host Maria Bartiromo pressed Comer about the evidence he possessed pertaining to President Joe Biden's alleged corruption, specifically inquiring about the whistleblowers he previously claimed existed. She also sought information on an informant who allegedly provided the Congressman with vital information.

Comer reluctantly admitted Republicans were unable to "track down the informant."
