The planet is hurtling toward climate catastrophe and getting American lawmakers to acknowledge that climate change is even real can be like pulling teeth.
That's why many related to George Clooney's frustration in a recent mock PSA presented on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The PSA is for the fictional organization United to Defeat Untruthful Misinformation and Support Science (UDUMASS), which works to convince people that climate change is real, vaccinations work, and dinosaurs existed.

The announcement is chock full of cameos from lawmakers perpetuating misinformation and ignorance. One is Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), who, four years ago, brought a snowball to the senate floor as evidence that global warming was fake because it was cold outside. President Donald Trump also makes an appearance, claiming that the noise from "windmills" (wind turbines, in reality) causes cancer.
But, through donations, there's hope.
Clooney promises:
"Your generous contribution to UDUMASS will provide desperately needed knowledge to dumb f---ing idiots on Facebook and Twitter all around the world. For just $20, we'll convince one f---ing idiot that climate change is real. Fifty will teach five brainless dumb f---s to vaccinate their kids and 200 will teach ten dips--t knuckledraggers that dinosaurs existed—but not at the same time as people."
People threw their support behind UDUMASS.
