UPDATE 10/27/17 @ 7 a.m. EDT: Stranger Things season 2 is now available for streaming on Netflix. Learn more about season 3 here.
Stranger Things season 2 comes out on Netflix on Friday, October 27. What time will all the episodes become available for streaming on Netflix?
Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s biggest original content hits. It first premiered in the summer of 2016, skyrocketing its young cast to stardom while also bringing back iconic 1990s actress, Winona Ryder.
Conceived by the Duffer Brothers, the series was built on nostalgia for 1980s pop culture, namely the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Stephen King, and George Lucas. Rotten Tomato has rated the series at 96%, writing, “Exciting, heartbreaking, and sometimes scary… an addictive homage to Spielberg films and vintage 1980s television.”
After premiering in July 2016, Netflix realized it had a hit on its hands and renewed it for a second season a month later on August 31.
Season 2 was greenlit for nine episodes, to be released on October 27, 2017, just in time for Halloween.
Various teasers and trailers have been released for the new season, all featuring a new, giant monster that will soon be revealed. According to Comic Sands, the new monster may be a Thessalhydra, a hydra with eight heads that was introduced at the end of last season as a game piece in Dungeons & Dragons. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last summer, Ross Duffer (of the Duffer brothers) said that season 2 will feature much more of the Upside Down, including other creatures that live there besides the Demogorgon.

This may mean that there may be many monsters escaping into Hawkins, Indiana in season 2, and not just the Thessalhydra.
