It’s the question on every viewer’s mind. After making it through months of rehab, did Buddy Bell follow the advice given to him and leave Greensboro behind? Throughout the fifth season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Buddy has expressed on multiple occasions his fear of returning to the North Carolina town. According to the My Big Fat Fabulous Life co-star, everything that led to his cocaine addiction was in Greensboro, leaving him to fear he’d revert to his old ways.

Over the past few episodes, Whitney has expressed her fear of Buddy leaving Greensboro and the possible deterioration of their friendship. Previews for tonight’s episode made it appear as if Buddy has packed up his belongings and is leaving his space with Whitney for good, but is that really the case? While it’s not easy to tell based on Buddy’s social media, it does appear as if he has left Greensboro, though still returns for a visit.

One telling sign is his Facebook page, which lists him living in Charleston, SC. The last time he updated taht, however, was in October 2017. Though his Facebook has remained inactive for five months, Buddy has utilized his Instagram frequently. Following his Instagram posts don’t make it easy to determine where he has settled down, but there is evidence that points toward Greensboro, NC, Alexandria, VA, and Charleston, SC.

On several occasions in February, Buddy posted several images from Alexandria, VA, though he never confirmed if he was visiting or living there. He has published photos at Rock Creek Park in Washington D.C., Lake Bernard Frank in Rockville, MD, and the Potomac Overlook Regional Park in Arlington, VA, which are closer in proximity to Virginia than North Carolina. Posts have also shown Buddy in the Greensboro area, including one on March 9 by the former location of Tex & Shirley’s Restaurant.

Buddy has mentioned on the television show that he likely would move into a halfway house after his rehab was completed. That still leaves the possibility open that he’s in Virginia or South Carolina. On the last episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, he expressed reservations about moving to Charleston, which was high on his list as it’s where his rehab his located.

Buddy’s whereabouts may be a partial mystery, but if there’s one thing that can be assumed, it’s that his relationship with Whitney has remained strong. On March 1, 2018, he posted a series of videos on Instagram defending the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star against people claiming she has a food addiction.
