Christmas may be boisterous with its good wishes and seasons greetings, but not everyone partakes in it. On Christmas Day, it’s not uncommon for stores to close, giving their employees the chance to spend the holiday with their families. The dilemma, however, is that those that don’t celebrate are left conforming to a schedule they don’t follow.

While stores will open on Christmas Eve, typically for a shorter schedule, most will stay closed on Christmas Day. Big box retailers and smaller specialty stores may open on Thanksgiving Day, but when it comes to Christmas they’re more inclined to close. This leaves people that don’t celebrate Christmas with a very limited number of locations to shop at throughout the day.

The following are scheduled to remain open on Dec. 25, 2017, either at a full or reduced schedule.

Pharmacies

CVS: For standalone CVS locations, most stores are scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 11 p.m. on Christmas Day. Some may even be open 24-hours. Refer to the CVS.com store locator for a specific location’s hours.

Walgreens: Twenty-four hour locations will remain open all day while other stores will run on a limited schedule. Refer to the store locator for specifics, but most will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Rite Aid: Most Rite Aid locations will be open for 24-hours on Christmas Day

Convenience Stores

7-Eleven: As can be expected, most 7-Eleven stores will be open throughout Christmas Day. There may be a few exceptions, so refer to the store locator for specifics.

Circle K: Stores are expected to remain open for 24-hours on Christmas Day.

Speedway: Most Speedway stores are scheduled for business throughout Christmas Day. Refer to the store locator for a location near you.

Sheetz: Stores will remain open on Christmas Day for 24 hours.

Grocery Stores

Albertsons: Though most grocery stores are closing on Christmas Day, Albertsons’ locations are slated to be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To see if a local store will be open, refer to the store locator.

Vons: To benefit shoppers in need of last minute items for Christmas dinner or those that simply don't celebrate, many Vons stores will be open on Christmas Day. Find a nearby location's hours using the online locator.

Restaurants

IHOP: Nothing rounds off a Christmas morning better than a hearty breakfast. Store hours will vary from location to location, but many IHOP restaurants are open on Christmas.

Denny's: Catering to the sweet and the savory, Denny's breakfast options will be served at most locations on Christmas Day. Many 24-hour restaurants will remain open while a select few Denny's eateries will close for the day. Refer to the store locator for details on a local restaurant.

Buffalo Wild Wings: It's not always just about the ham on Christmas Day. Consider a plate of buffalo wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. Check the store locator to determine which locations are open on Christmas Day and for what hours they are open.

Miscellaneous

Family Dollar: For last minutes shopping or for shoppers to pass the time, some Family Dollar locations will be open 24-hours on Christmas Day. Refer to the store locator for specific store hours.

Starbucks: On Christmas Day, most Starbucks stores will be open for coffee connoisseurs. Store hours may vary, so refer to the store locator. Starbucks in Target locations will remain closed.
