Congressman Steve King (R-IA) was stripped of his committee assignments and admonished by leading members of his party earlier this year for defending white supremacy.

While one might assume the embattled Representative would be more measured in his public comments going forward, but King doesn't seem concerned with meeting those expectations.

The Congressman posted a meme to his Facebook page featuring the red states and blue states assembling to punch each other. The meme read:

"Folks keep talking about another Civil War. One side has about 8 trillion bullets while the other side doesn't know which bathroom to use."

Rhetoric like this only exacerbates the partisanship rampant within the United States.

Many people want King to face punishment.

Not to mention, the meme's logic is flawed.

From the illustration, to the sentiment.

Also unsettling: certain Trump supporters often warn of another civil war should Democrats regain power.

Perhaps King should choose his words more carefully since, inexplicably, people still heed them.
